Queen’s Park: Minister’s Schedules and Events

  • 10:00 a.m. – Toronto: Jeff Yurek, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, will make an announcement regarding an Ontario Forestry Strategy and opening Ontario up for business.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Toronto: Midwifery and Pay Equity: HRTO Decision Rally. About 400–600 people expected.
  • 11:45 a.m. – Toronto: The Association of Ontario Midwives case against the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Media Studio, Queen’s Park.
  • 1:00 p.m. – Toronto: Ontario Ombudsman Paul Dubé will release his report on driver licence suspension notices. Media Studio, Queen’s Park.

Mr. Smith (Bay of Quinte) — That, pursuant to Standing Order 47 and notwithstanding any other Standing Order or Special Order of the House, when the Order of the Day is called resuming the adjourned debate on Government Order Number 6, the Speaker shall put every question necessary to dispose of the motion and any amendments thereto which questions shall be decided without further amendment or debate; and That, notwithstanding Standing Order 9(c) or 28(h), there shall be no deferral of any vote; and That, in the case of any division on the amendment to the motion and the motion, the division bell shall be limited to 5 minutes.

Private Members’ Notice of Motion Number 15 – Mr. Burch – That, in the opinion of this House, the Government of Ontario should provide a firm funding commitment and a clear timeline for the delivery of year-round GO Transit rail service, serving all stops between Niagara Falls and Toronto with a final project delivery deadline of no later than 2023, a project that will create jobs, connect Niagara to vital GTHA transit hubs, decrease traffic congestion, and grow the local economy.

Private Members’ Notice of Motion Number 16 – Ms. Morrison – That, in the opinion of this House, the Government of Ontario should affirm that affordable housing is a basic human right by reducing the waitlist for rent-geared-to-income housing, funding at least one-third of the costs of municipal social housing capital repairs and funding the construction of new rent-geared-to-income homes in Ontario.
