PWG Insights: A Green COVID-19 Recovery Plan – Zero Emission Vehicles

On September 24^th, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, delivered the Speech from the Throne to formally open the second session of the 43rd Parliament of Canada following its prorogation in August. The Throne Speech introduces the government’s direction and goals and outlines how it will work to achieve them. The 2020 Throne Speech focused on the Government’s plan to continuing to support Canadians throughout COVID-19.

A cornerstone of this plan is climate action. The Government will be immediately bringing forward a plan to exceed Canada’s 2030 climate goal. The Government will also legislate Canada’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
