Parliament Hill Calendar: Events and Ministers’ Schedules

  • 8:30 a.m. – Regina, SK: The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will announce a significant investment through the government’s Strategic Innovation Fund to support Canada’s steel industry.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Whitehorse, YT: The Honourable Mary Ng, Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, will participate in a female entrepreneurs roundtable.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Montreal, QC: The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will meet with Montréal Pride and LGBTQ2 community groups to discuss Canada’s advocacy for the LGBTQ2 community at home and abroad.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Toronto, ON: The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, federal Minister of Health, accompanied by the Honourable Bill Morneau, Minister of Finance, and Dr. Eric Hoskins, Chair of the Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare, will make an announcement.
  • 9:30 a.m. – West Vancouver, BC: The Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, and Pamela Goldsmith-Jones, MP for West Vancouver — Sunshine Coast — Sea to Sky Country, will announce new measures to protect newly discovered glass sponge reefs in Howe Sound.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Bridgewater, NS: The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Seniors, will tour HB Studios Sports Centre that help prevent social isolation among seniors and have benefitted from Government of Canada funding for seniors.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Saint-Jacques, NB: René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, will make an announcement about funding to help the New Brunswick Botanical Garden Society build a unique new exhibit that will help diversify the tourism experience in Northwestern New Brunswick.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Gaspé, QC: The Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament for Gaspésie—Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, on behalf of the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, will make an important announcement on marine conservation. 
  • 10:00 a.m. – Oshawa, ON: Karen McCrimmon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, will make a Community Resilience Fund announcement.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Ottawa, ON: Member of Parliament for Ottawa West─Nepean, Anita Vandenbeld, and Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Vanier, Mona Fortier, on behalf of the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, will announce an important contribution by the Canadian Coast Guard for students at Algonquin College. The contribution will support training and skills development for students at the College.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Calgary, AB: The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will deliver remarks at an event hosted by Cisco Canada, where he will speak about how the Government’s innovation agenda is creating a climate for businesses to invest in Canada.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Dartmouth, NS: Darren Fisher, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth – Cole Harbour, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), will make a funding announcement supporting increased efficiency and competitiveness in the manufacturing industry in Nova Scotia.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Whitehorse, YT: The Honourable Mary Ng, Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, will make a Women Entrepreneurship Fund Announcement.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Alma, NB: Alaina Lockhart, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie and Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), will be in Alma on Wednesday, March 6 to make a funding announcement for the Village of Alma.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Sackville, NB: The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental and Northern Affairs and Internal Trade, will be at Mount Allison University tomorrow, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, to celebrate the completion of an infrastructure project supported through the Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund.
  • 11:15 a.m. – Montreal, QC: The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will deliver remarks followed by panel discussion on Harnessing the opportunities of the new NAFTA at the Canadian Crops Convention.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Berthierville, QC: The Hon. François-Philippe Champagne, Canada’s Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, returns to his home region of Mauricie, where he will visit Shawinigan, Berthierville, Louiseville and Yamachiche. While in the Mauricie, he will meet with community and business leaders to learn how the Government of Canada’s infrastructure investments are benefitting their communities.
  • 12:30 p.m. – Vaughan, ON: The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will visit an H&R Block tax preparation clinic to highlight the benefits of the Climate Action Incentive payment for Ontarians.
  • 12:30 p.m. – Victoria, BC: An important infrastructure event with the Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Accessibility, on behalf of the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and the Honourable Claire Trevena, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure for B.C.
  • 1:00 p.m. – Whitehorse, YT: Larry Bagnell, Member of Parliament for Yukon, on behalf of the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction, as he makes a funding announcement to the Government of Yukon under the Initiative to Take Action Against Gun and Gang Violence (ITAAGGV). He will be joined by the Honourable Tracy-Anne McPhee, Yukon Minister of Justice.
  • 1:30 p.m. – Windsor, NS: The Honourable Bernadette Jordan, Minister of Rural Economic Development will participate in a roundtable on rural economic development with BioVectra. Minister Jordan will also highlight the recent Strategic Innovation Fund investment in BioVectra’s facilities in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
  • 2:30 p.m. Annapolis Royal, NS: The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Seniors, will make an announcement about how the Government of Canada is improving social inclusion among seniors in Nova Scotia.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Edmonton, AB: The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, along with Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut Jeremy Hansen, will unveil Canada’s Space Strategy.
  • 3:00 p.m. – Whitehorse, YT: The Honourable Mary Ng, Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, will participate in a roundtable with the local Chamber of Commerce.
  • 6:30 p.m. – Mississauga, ON: The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will hold a town hall event with the Member of Parliament for Mississauga—Streetsville, Gagan Sikand, to hear from Canadians about Canada’s climate plan.
  • 7:00 p.m. – Halifax, NS: Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, on behalf of Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food will be at the Canadian Horticultural Annual General meeting to announce a federal investment to support Canada’s horticulture sector.
