Queen’s Park: Ministers’ Schedules and Events 

  • 9:00 a.m. – Hamilton: Peter Milcyzn, Minister of Housing and Minister Responsible for the Poverty Reduction Strategy, will make an announcement about Ontario’s efforts to support poverty reduction.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Toronto: Liberal MPP Cristina Martins to introduce private members’ bill, Putting Your Best Foot Forward Act. Queen’s Park Media Studio.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Toronto: OPSEU’s mental health division to hold a media availability. Queen’s Park Media Studio.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Toronto: Premier Kathleen Wynne to attend Question Period at the legislature.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Toronto: Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk to release a special report, titled “The Fair Hydro Plan: Concerns About Fiscal Transparency Accountability and Value for Money.”
  • 12:00 p.m. – Toronto: Wynne to attend a caucus meeting.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Toronto: Wynne to participate in an announcement on Waterfront Toronto’s innovation and funding partner with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Mayor John Tory, Waterfront Toronto President and CEO Will Fleissig, and CEO of Sidewalk Labs, Dan Doctoroff.

Chamber Business starts at 9:00 a.m. today

  • Second Reading of Bill 166, An Act to amend or repeal various Acts and to enact three new Acts with respect to the construction of new homes and ticket sales for events.
  • Second Reading of Bill 163, An Act to enact the Safe Access to Abortion Services Act, 2017 and to amend the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act in relation to abortion services.
  • Resuming the debate adjourned on Oct. 5 on the motion for Second Reading of Bill 160, An Act to amend, repeal and enact various Acts in the interest of strengthening quality and accountability for patients.

Queen’s Park: Committees 

  • 9:00 a.m. – Standing Committee on Estimates will meet to review the 2017-2018 Estimates of the Ministry of Energy         
  • 9:00 a.m. – Standing Committee on Government Agencies will meet to consider intended appointments
  • 3:45 p.m. – Standing Committee on Estimates will meet to review the 2017-2018 Estimates of the Ministry of Energy
  • 4:00 p.m. – Standing Committee on Social Policy will meet to consider Bill 139, An Act to enact the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal Act, 2017 and the Local Planning Appeal Support Centre Act, 2017 and to amend the Planning Act, the Conservation Authorities Act and various other Acts
