Parliament Hill Calendar: Events and Ministers’ Schedules
- 8:30 a.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Honourable Mary Ng, Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, will be in Ottawa to meet with small business owners and entrepreneurs and highlight the government supports that help small businesses start up, scale up and access new markets.
- 9:00 a.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Honorable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, will take part in the second of the cross-Canada forums on various themes related to the Official Languages Act. The forum, taking place in Ottawa, will focus on federal institutions that embody official languages. These discussions with community stakeholders will help Minister Joly identify key issues and actions to prioritize as part of the review to modernize the Official Languages Act.
- 9:00 a.m. – Boston, Massachusetts: The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, Sean Casey, will make an important announcement regarding funding provided to international organisations to protect our waters from oil spills. The Parliamentary Secretary will be accompanied by the Consul General of Canada in Boston, David Alward, and Dr. Collin Ward, Assistant Scientist, Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
- 10:00 a.m. – Ottawa, ON: An important announcement with the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, and the band council of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg.
- 1:15 p.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of National Defence, and the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will make an important announcement and hold a press conference.
- 2:00 p.m. – Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL: Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will make a funding announcement related to community development in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
