Parliament Hill Calendar: Ministers’ Schedules and Events
- 6:00 a.m. – Gatineau, QC: The Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, will participate in a Celebration on the occasion of National Aboriginal Day and the Summer Solstice. The event will include a traditional component, which will take place on the greenspace directly behind the Canadian Museum of History, and an entertainment portion, which will include First Nation drumming, Métis fiddling and jigging and Inuit drumming.
- 8:00 a.m. – St. John’s, NFLD: Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Jim Carr, will be delivering a keynote speech at the Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industries Association (NOIA) Conference. The Minister will be available for a brief media scrum following his speech. The annual NOIA conference, the largest offshore conference in Canada, aims to explore current advances and opportunities within the oil and gas industry.
- 9:45 a.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Prime Minister will attend the National Caucus meeting.
- 11:00 a.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-food, will travel to Savannah, Georgia to attend his first trilateral meeting with United States Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, and Mexican Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food, José Calzada. Minister MacAulay will hold a media teleconference following the meetings.
- 12:00 p.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Prime Minister will make an announcement.
- 1:00 p.m. – Harstad, Norway: Arif Virani, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage (Multiculturalism), delivers remarks at the Arctic Arts Summit regarding the economic role of arts, culture and heritage, particularly in the Arctic and Northern Regions, as well as reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and support for Indigenous creators
- 2:00 p.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Prime Minister will attend Question Period.
- 7:00 p.m. – Ottawa, ON: Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan will participate in a town hall meeting organized by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress on June 21 at Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Shrine. Minister Sajjan will highlight the strong partnership between the two countries and meet with members of the local Ukrainian-Canadian community.
