Parliament Hill Calendar: Ministers’ Schedules and Events
- 8:45 a.m. – Chippewas of Rama First Nation, ON: The Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs will join Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief, Patrick (Wedaseh) Madahbee and the Honourable Mitzie Hunter, Ontario Minister of Education, at a special event to celebrate the signing of a historic education self-government agreement.
- 9:45 a.m. – Beaubassin-East, NB: The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of International Trade, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will announce a clean technology initiative that will benefit rural entrepreneurs throughout Atlantic Canada. Minister Champagne will be accompanied by the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard and MP for Beauséjour, and the Honourable Jim Carr, Minister of Natural Resources.
- 10:00 a.m. – Chandler, QC: A conference at which the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, MP for Gaspésie–Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), will make an announcement concerning the Information Technology and Communications (ITC) Technocentre.
- 10:00 a.m. – Saint-Hyacinthe, QC: Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Jean-Claude Poissant, will provide remarks at the regional consultation session for A Food Policy for Canada, being held.
- 11:30 a.m. – Red Bank, NB: On behalf of the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, Pat Finnigan, Member of Parliament for Miramichi — Grand Lake, will hold a press conference with James P. Ward, General Manager of Anqotum Resource Management, and Bill Ward, Chief of the Metepenagiag First Nation, to announce a partnership and a significant investment for the Little Southwest Miramichi River Restoration project.
- 1:00 p.m. – Toronto, ON: The Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister of Status of Women will be making an important announcement regarding the Government of Canada’s commitment to providing young women with meaningful leadership opportunities.
- 2:00 p.m. – Vancouver, BC: Ron McKinnon, Member of Parliament, Coquitlam—Port Coquitlam, on behalf of the Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, will join Peter Xotta, vice president planning and operations, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority for an announcement concerning better access to transportation information.
