  • 9:30 a.m. – Montreal, QC: Stéphane Lauzon, Parliamentary Secretary for Sport and Persons with Disabilities, will attend the opening ceremony of the Défi Sportif AlterGo to officially launch the 34th edition of the event.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Montreal, QC: David Lametti, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will speak at the annual general meeting of TechnoMontreal, Greater Montreal’s information and communications technologies cluster. Mr. Lametti will speak about key elements of Budget 2017’s Innovation and Skills Plan and the next steps in the federal government’s economic plan to support Canada’s middle class. He will also discuss how key sectors of Quebec’s economy could benefit from innovation.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Edmundston, NB: René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska—Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, will make a funding announcement on improving access to community-based services for victims of sexual violence in northwestern New Brunswick.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Moose Jaw, SK: The Honourable Kent Hehr, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will meet with Canadian Forces Members and provide details on Budget 2017 and the Government’s ongoing commitment to enhanced support to Veterans and their families.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Saint-Isidore, NB: Serge Cormier, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard and Member of Parliament for Acadie – Bathurst, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will make a funding announcement.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Fredericton, NB: Matt DeCourcey, Member of Parliament (Fredericton), will announce cultural infrastructure funding for the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. He will make this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Alouette, QC: On behalf of Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Defence, Jean Rioux, and the Member for Chicoutimi – Le Fjord, Denis Lemieux, will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony to inaugurate the beginning of work on the construction of new military facilities in Bagotville. Media are invited to attend the ceremony.
  • 12:00 p.m. – New York, NY: The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will deliver a keynote address at the World Jewish Congress Plenary Assembly. The Minister will speak to senior representatives of Jewish communities from 90 countries about Canada’s strong relationship with Israel and the global fight against antisemitism and violent extremism.
  • 2:00 p.m. – Montreal, QC: The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport will officially launch Rail Safety Week and make an announcement regarding investments in rail safety. He will be joined by Stephen Covey, Chair, Board of Directors, Operation Lifesaver, Yves Desjardins-Siciliano, President and Chief Executive Officer, Via Rail Canada and Françoise Bertrand, Chair, Board of Directors, VIA Rail Canada.
  • 3:00 p.m. – Toronto, ON: The Prime Minister will meet with H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Thani, CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority and State Minister, State of Qatar.
