  • 8:00 a.m. – Toronto, ON: The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will deliver a keynote address at the Public Policy Forum’s Growth Summit II. The speech will focus on why, in a global and digital economy, Canadian businesses must invest not only in developing new technologies but also in developing the skills and talent of their workforce.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Moncton, NB: The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency; and Monique LeBlanc, MLA for Moncton East, on behalf of the Honourable Donald Arseneault, Minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation, will make an announcement for Venn Innovation Inc.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Florida, USA: The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, will deliver the keynote introduction to the plenary session on a day dedicated to the themes of Energy, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development. He will also travel to Tampa Bay to meet with the Governor of Florida, Rick Scott, and other elected representatives from Miami and Tampa Bay to discuss the trade relationship of our countries and transportation infrastructure.

  • 9:30 a.m. – Los Angeles, CA (USA): Minister Joly participates in a roundtable with music industry executives and key players.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Bishop’s Falls, NL: Scott Simms, Member of Parliament for Coast of Bays-Central-Notre Dame, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), will make a funding announcement related to tourism infrastructure development in the Town of Bishop’s Falls.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Thetford Mines, QC: An important infrastructure announcement with Marc Miller, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and Sébastien Proulx, Minister of Families, Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports, Minister responsible for the Gaspésie—Îles-de-la-Madeleine Region.

  • 10:30 a.m. – Toronto, ON: Minister of Finance Bill Morneau will speak and hold an armchair discussion at the second Growth Summit hosted by the Public Policy Forum in Toronto.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Toronto, ON: The President of the Treasury Board, the Honourable Scott Brison,  and the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, will make an important announcement regarding diversity in the federal public service. They will be available to answer questions from the media immediately following the announcement.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Baddeck, NS: An important infrastructure event with Mark Eyking, Member of Parliament for Sydney‒Victoria, and Rodger Cuzner, Member of Parliament for Cape Breton–Canso and the Honourable Geoff MacLellan, Minister of the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Temiskaming Shores, ON: Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing—Temiskaming, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, will visit the City of Temiskaming Shores to meet with regional stakeholders and make an important FedNor announcement to help strengthen the economic outlook for the region.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Los Angeles, CA (USA): Minister Joly meets with Cheryl Boone Isaacs, President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
  • 11:30 a.m. – Toronto, ON: The Prime Minister will be interviewed by Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait for the Bloomberg Businessweek’s Debrief series.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Los Angeles, CA (USA): Minister Joly participates in a roundtable with the Motion Picture Association of America and executives from the film and television industry.
  • 1:00 p.m. – Red Lake, ON: The Honourable Bob Nault, Member of Parliament for Kenora, will be in the Municipality of Red Lake to make a funding announcement in support of recreational infrastructure and strategic economic development. The announcement will be made on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Los Angeles, CA (USA): Minister Joly meets with executives from Snap Inc.
  • 3:15 p.m. – Washington, D.C.: Minister Morneau will speak at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) seminar Global Economy on an Upswing: Can it Work for All?
  • 3:30 p.m. – Drummondville, QC: An important infrastructure event with Marc Miller Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities; Laurent Lessard, Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transport Electrification; Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and Minister responsible for the Centre-du-Québec region on behalf of Martin Coiteux, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Minister of Public Security, and Minister responsible for the Montreal region; and Alexandre Cusson, Mayor of Drummondville.
  • 4:30 p.m. – Washington, D.C.: Minister Morneau will speak at the World Bank Gender Equality event Boosting Women’s Economic Empowerment.
  • 6:00 p.m. – Toronto, ON: The Prime Minister will host the Public Policy Forum’s Testimonial Dinner.
  • 7:45 p.m. – Washington, D.C.: Minister Morneau will take part in the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors working dinner.
