Federal Events

  • 11:00 a.m. – Toronto, ON: The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will participate in a panel discussion hosted by the Canadian Council for the Americas (CCA) during its “New Strategies for a New North America” event. The Minister will be joined by Luis Videgaray, Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs, for a discussion moderated by Kenneth Frankel, CCA President.
  • 12:30 p.m. – Ottawa, ON: The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will take part in the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation’s Talk Energy Week livestream. The theme will focus on bringing climate solutions from idea to action, and adapting to changing climate conditions. Other panelists include: Will Gadd, internationally renowned ice climber and Red Bull athlete, and leader of the On Thin Ice expedition into the Athabasca Glacier and Andrea Brazeau, indigenous youth leader from Kangiqsualujjuaq, Northern Quebec, now studying in Montreal.

  • 9:00 a.m. – Toronto: PC Leader Patrick Brown will hold a start-of-sitting press conference. Queen’s Park.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Toronto: Attorney General Yasir Naqvi will deliver an address to the Empire Club of Canada.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Toronto: Premier Wynne to attend a Caucus Meeting. Queen’s Park.
  • 4:30 p.m. – Toronto: Premier Wynne to meet with Daughters of the Vote. Queen’s Park.
  • 6:00 p.m. – Toronto: Premier Wynne to deliver remarks at the Liberal Caucus Black History Month Reception. Queen’s Park.

Bills

  • Second Reading of Bill 65, An Act to amend the Highway Traffic Act in respect of speed limits in municipalities and other matters.
  • Second Reading of Bill 84, An Act to amend various Acts with respect to medical assistance in dying.

Committees

  • 9:00 a.m. – The Standing Committee on Government Agencies will meet to consider intended appointments.
  • 4:00 p.m. – The Standing Committee on Social Policy will meet to consider Bill 59, An Act to enact a new Act with respect to home inspections and to amend various Acts with respect to financial services and consumer protection.
