An Associate of Pathway Group, Joe Hruska brings a wealth of experience from various sectors including steel, petroleum, commercial banking, public policy, government relations and environmental protection. For more than 36 years, he has initiated product stewardship and environmental strategy policies and programs to promote positive change in the environment and economy.
More than 16 years ago he established his own consulting firm, Hruska and Associates, with a client base of public and private sector organizations. He has extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of sustainability, business, environment and leading and managing stewardship programs. He has been the agent of success in numerous post-use/sustainability programs including the United Nations recognized Blue Box program first launched in Ontario where Joe lead industry’s roll-out of the Blue Box Program, Funding & Technical Programs in partnership with government, municipalities and industry.
He has demonstrated leadership over the last 36 years in various industry executive positions while active on a number of industry boards and volunteer groups. Prior to joining Pathway, Joe was Vice President Sustainability for the plastics industry at the Canadian Plastics Industry Association where he successfully led and implemented initiatives to improve plastics sustainability with industry, government and municipal partners. He currently sits on the Recycling Council Board of Directors. He is well known for his reputation in successfully building multi-sectoral partnerships and building win-win solutions in public policy.
