Parliament Hill Calendar: Ministers’ Schedules and Events 

  • 8:45 a.m. – Vancouver, BC: The Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in a number of events as part of the UN Peacekeeping Defence Ministerial conference: http://bit.ly/2zJ0UIB
  • 9:30 a.m. – Sault Ste. Marie, ON: The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, will visit the Soo and participate in a number of events: http://bit.ly/2jvyVbD
  • 10:00 a.m. – Dartmouth, NS: Darren Fisher, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth ‒ Cole Harbour, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), will make a funding announcement in Dartmouth to support the ocean and clean tech sectors.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Saskatoon, SK: The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, will make a number of science and innovation announcements.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Montreal, QC: Emmanuella Lambropoulos, Member of Parliament for Saint-Laurent, will announce funding for a clean technology project that benefits Canada’s environment and supports middle-class jobs.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Dartmouth, NS: Darren Fisher, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth – Cole Harbour, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will make a funding announcement concerning Beazley Park.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Chéticamp, NS: Rodger Cuzner, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour and Member of Parliament (Cape Breton–Canso), will make a funding announcement about the Conseil des arts de Chéticamp.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Conne River, NFLD: Scott Simms, Member of Parliament for Coast of Bays – Central – Notre Dame, will announce a new investment in coastal restoration for Newfoundland and Labrador under the Oceans Protection Plan.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Calgary, AB: The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Federal Minister of Health, will be announcing new federal activities to address the opioid crisis during a closing address at the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA)’s Issues of Substance Conference.
  • 1:00 p.m. – Bonn, Germany: The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will participate in a panel discussion about the Indigenous leadership on climate action in Canada. The event highlights Canada’s efforts to recognize Indigenous rights in addressing climate change, including through the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples’ Platform at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
  • 1:00 p.m. – Lively, ON: Paul Lefebvre, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, will be at Morin Industrial Coatings Ltd. to announce support for energy efficiency and clean growth in the region.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Port Hope, ON: Kim Rudd, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Northumberland—Peterborough South, will participate in a ceremony to unveil a Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada plaque recognizing the national historic significance of the Port Hope Capitol Theatre.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Quebec, QC: The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, along with Hélène David, Quebec Minister of Higher Education and Minister of Status of Women; Gaetan Barrette, Quebec Minister of Health and Social Services; and Sébastien Proulx, Quebec Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports and Minister responsible for the Capitale-Nationale region, will be at Université Laval on Wednesday, November 15 to announce post-secondary infrastructure funding and to highlight the benefits of the Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund.
  • 4:30 p.m. – Bonn, Germany: Minister McKenna will participate in a Facebook Live armchair discussion with Catherine Stewart, Canada’s Chief Negotiator.
  • 5:00 p.m. – Bonn, Germany: Minister McKenna will moderate a discussion at the Delphi/GLOBE Canada Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition business event.
  • 8:45 p.m. – Bonn, Germany: Minister McKenna will attend a joint ministers’ reception hosted by the Fiji Presidency and Germany’s Ministry of the Environment.

  • 8:50 a.m. – Vancouver, BC: The Prime Minister will attend the Opening Plenary of the UN Peacekeeping Defence Ministerial Conference and will deliver remarks.
