Parliament Hill Calendar: Events and Ministers’ Schedules

  • 9:00 a.m. – St. John’s, NL: The Minister of Veterans Affairs, Seamus O’Regan, along with the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, Dwight Ball, will announce funding from the Government of Canada’s Low Carbon Economy Fund for provincial programs that support climate action and energy efficiency.
  • 9:15 a.m. – Varennes, QC: Canada’s Infrastructure and Communities Minister François-Philippe Champagne will make an important infrastructure announcement along with Vicki-May Hamm, President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. 
  • 10:00 a.m. – Dartmouth, NS: Darren Fisher, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth–Cole Harbour, will announce an investment in a Nova Scotia business, on behalf of the Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Accessibility.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Saint-Jacques-de-Montcalm, QC: The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, will announce funding for Mailhot Industries Inc.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Belœil, QC: The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, will meet with representatives of Tourisme La Vallée-du-Richelieu to discuss and learn from their experience in culinary tourism.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Saint-Hyacinthe, QC: Canada’s Infrastructure and Communities Minister François-Philippe Champagne will tour Saint-Hyacinthe’s composting and waste-to-natural gas facilities
  • 11:00 a.m. – Thunder Bay, ON: Don Rusnak, Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Rainy River, and the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Superior North will be at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery to make a significant FedNor announcement. The announcement will help enhance tourism and business growth opportunities in the region.
  • 11:30 a.m. – Saint-Hyacinthe, QC: Canada’s Infrastructure and Communities Minister François-Philippe Champagne will addresse the Saint-Hyacinthe Chamber of Commerce
  • 11:30 a.m. – Windsor, ON: The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, will make an important announcement for the automotive sector.
  • 1:45 p.m. – Granby, QC: Canada’s Infrastructure and Communities Minister François-Philippe Champagne will tour the Granby Aquatic Center construction site with MP Pierre Breton.
  • 2:45 p.m. – Granby, QC: Canada’s Infrastructure and Communities Minister François-Philippe Champagne and MP Pierre Breton will participate in a roundtable with local mayors. 
  • 4:00 p.m. – Sherbrooke, NS: Sean Fraser, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Member of Parliament for Central Nova, will make a funding announcement about tourism and community infrastructure.
  • The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will be in Detroit, Michigan, to attend the 2019 North American International Auto Show. In addition to visiting the show, the Minister will meet with key stakeholders in the automotive manufacturing sector to promote Canada’s automotive sector and its workers.

Prime Minister’s Itinerary

Ottawa, Ontario

  • 9:00 a.m. The Prime Minister will hold a media availability.
  • 10:00 a.m. The Prime Minister along with Governor General Julie Payette will host a videoconference with Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint-Jacques. A group of local students will also participate in the videoconference.
  • 2:00 p.m. The Prime Minister will meet with Assembly of First Nations leaders, and will deliver opening remarks. Minister of Indigenous Services Jane Philpott, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations Carolyn Bennett, and Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism Pablo Rodriguez will be in attendance.
