Parliament Hill Calendar: Ministers’ Schedules and Events

  • 9:00 a.m. – L’Étang-du-Nord, QC: The Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament for Gaspésie–Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine—on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development—along with Hélène David, Quebec Minister of Higher Education, will be at Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles (Magdalen Islands campus) to announce infrastructure funding for the institution and highlight the benefits of the Post-Secondary Strategic Investment Fund.
  • 9:00 a.m. – Kenora, ON: The Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, will be making important announcements on investments in water infrastructure to benefit First Nations of Treaty 3.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Matane, QC: Rémi Massé, Member of Parliament (Avignon–La Mitis–Matane–Matapédia ) will announce funding for Matane éclaté 2017. He will make this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Summerland, BC: An important announcement to benefit community infrastructure with the Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada.
  • 2:00 p.m. – Montréal, QC – Sherry Romanado, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, and Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montréal will join Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces personnel, Royal Canadian Mounted Police members, Indigenous representatives, youth and other special guests at the Dieppe Park (formerly known as the « parc de la Cité-du-Havre »), in Montreal to mark the 75th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid. We shall never forget the bravery and sacrifice witnessed during the Dieppe Raid. The Montréal commemorative event that will take place at the Dieppe Park in the City of Montréal is an opportunity to honour and remember those who saw action in what was the single bloodiest day for Canadians in the Second World War. The commemorative ceremony will include an artillery salute, the performing of the Last Post followed by two minutes of silence, and an account of the Dieppe Raid by historian Béatrice Richard. The ceremony will conclude with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
