  • 9:00 a.m. – Kapuskasing, ON: Paul Lefebvre, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, will be in Kapuskasing on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, to make an important FedNor announcement on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor. The announcement will help Francophone entrepreneurs expand their businesses and create jobs for young Canadians.
  • 9:15 a.m. – Detroit, Michigan: The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, will deliver remarks at the Great Lakes Economic Forum in Detroit, Michigan. This conference brings together business, government, community and academic leaders from the eight U.S. states and Ontario that together make up the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence region. Minister Bains will discuss the highly integrated trading relationship between Canada and the U.S., particularly in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence region.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Belfast, PEI: The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Member of Parliament for Cardigan, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the Honourable Alan McIsaac, P.E.I. Minister for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, will join staff and friends of Harmony Meadow Farm for an announcement.
  • 10:00 a.m. – Ennismore, ON: On behalf of the Honourable Jane Philpott, Minister of Health, the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister of Status of Women and Member of Parliament for Peterborough-Kawartha, will announce funding to Canada’s National Ballet School’s Sharing Dance programs, one of six finalists of the national competition The Play Exchange.
  • 10:20 a.m. – Gaspe, QC: The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard will make an announcement regarding maritime search and rescue.
  • 10:30 a.m. – Carleton-sur-Mer, QC: A press conference at which Rémi Massé, Member of Parliament for Avignon–La Mitis–Matane–Matapédia, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, will make an announcement regarding the Corporation de gestion et de mise en valeur du Mont Saint-Joseph.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Montreal, QC: The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport will make an announcement regarding rail safety in Canada. He will be joined by Clark Somerville, President, Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and David Price, Chair of FCM Rail Safety Working Group and Councillor, Ville de Sherbrooke.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Albany, PEI: The Honourable Wayne Easter, Member of Parliament for Malpeque, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will join representatives from Mid-Isle for an announcement.
  • 12:30 p.m. – Montreal, QC: The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, will address the membership of Universities Canada about the recommendations set out in Canada’s Fundamental Science Review report.
  • 1:00 p.m. – Whitehorse, YK: An important infrastructure announcement with Larry Bagnell, Member of Parliament for Yukon, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities; and Dan Curtis, Mayor of the City of Whitehorse.
  • 2:00 p.m. – Cochrane, ON: Paul Lefebvre, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, will be in Cochrane on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, to make a FedNor announcement to boost tourism and support strategic infrastructure upgrades in the community.
  • 2:00 p.m. – St. John’s, NFLD: Nick Whalen, Member of Parliament (St. John’s East), on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will make an announcement about cultural infrastructure funding.

 

  • 2:30 p.m. – Hardwood Lands, NS: The Honourable Scott Brison, President of the Treasury Board and Member of Parliament for Kings-Hants, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, will make a funding announcement in Hardwood Lands.
  • 4:30 p.m. – Cap-aux-Meules, QC: The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, will make an announcement regarding the SS Corfu Island during his visit to the Magdalen Islands.
  • 5:00 p.m. – Dartmouth, NS: The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will tour CarbonCure’s Dartmouth facility. Minister McKenna recently witnessed their success in the California market, and she is looking forward to seeing their local facility and learning more about how their clean technology is helping the concrete industry tackle climate change.
